Hi everybody, we have had such a busy week. Last sunday we went to the Port Elizabeth Airport and got to finally meet with our
mission President and his wife. They sure are nice people. They are really down to earth and friendly. Monday we packed up and left for
East London. It is four hours away. On the way we saw a lot of the country side. We did see two giraffe's along the way. We stayed at a
Bed and Breakfast there. Here they call it a B&B. We met with 3 or four bishops every day. Some of them were as far as three hours apart
from each other.
Hi everybody, Well I wasn't able to finish the last blog because I ran out of time. It's a week and half later and now we have traveled to Cape
town. It is 8 hours away from Port Elizabeth. We really have a tough time with our vontage phone when we are out of the area. Our kids can
tell you that. We don't mind traveled unless we can't keep in contact with our kids. Then it makes it really hart d. We have had endless problems
with our computer. We finally went to the mission home in Cape Town and had one of the Elder's fix it. He is a gem. He is great with computers.
Before we left we were able to go to the cheetah reserve and pet a mother cheetah and hold two baby lions cubs. The Elders in the area invited us
to go with them.
They had so much fun. When Elder Van Sickle was holding one of the cubs it bit him and drew blood. I think it was tried. It
was getting kind of grouchy and growled at us.They sure are cute. We hope to put the pictures on the Internet soon. We have seen so much of
the country.
When we went to one of the wards last week. I asked one of the mothers if I could hold there baby. I told her how much I missed my grandkids
I told her it helped alot if I held her baby.
We went out to dinner last night at a Portuguese restaurant with all the senior missionaries and the Mission Pres and his wife. It was alot of
fun. I can' t believe how much some people have sacrificed to be out here. One couple from Texas after living in there house for 40 years sold
there house to go on a mission. Now they are going home in 3 months homeless and jobless. They are incredible missionaries.
The people here need so much help in employment it is overwhelming sometimes. But I know God and Jesus Christ live and they will continue
helping us do there work. We love you all Elder Van Sickle and Sister Van Sickle.
